Safety & Compliance
-
Critical fall height testing determines the maximum height from which a child can fall onto a playground surface without sustaining a serious head injury. It's crucial for childcare centres to ensure their play surfaces meet Australian safety standards and minimize the risk of harm to children.
-
We conduct third-party drop tests on the installed surface, measuring impact in terms of g-max (maximum acceleration) and HIC (Head Injury Criterion) scores. These scores help assess the surface's ability to attenuate impact and reduce the risk of head trauma.
-
To comply with Australian Standards, the peak acceleration (g-max) must be less than 200g, the HIC value must be less than 1000, and the HIC duration must be greater than 3 milliseconds.
-
Yes, upon completion of your playground installation, we provide third-party certification to ensure full compliance with AS 4685 Australian Standards, giving you peace of mind knowing your play area is safe for children.
